Just wanted to give everyone a little update on the trip Tyler and I took to Pickwick Lake last weekend. Other than being hot the weather was great. Water temp was in the low to mid 80’s. We caught a 15 to 20 fish each morning, but the afternoon bite on Saturday was tremendous. We did not catch any giants but did manage to land some 3-1/2 to 4-1/2 pounders. The majority of the fish were in the 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 pound range. We caught the majority of them on crankbaits with plastic worms being next. I estimate our total catch for Saturday and Sunday was 80 to 100 fish. We caught about 90% of these fish from one cove on the lake in 4 to 6 feet of water. Shad were holding in this are around some shallow grass and the wind was blowing right into the cove. The bass were stacked in there thick. I will attempt to attach a few pictures. If any of you have not been to Pickwick Lake I highly recommend it. It is worth the drive.

Yes, we had a great time. I only wish we could have spent a couple more days. We caught 7 or 8 smallmouths but nothing more than 2 pounds. It’s our goal to go up there and catch a 5 or 6 pound smallmouth some day. There was a club from Tennessee with the American Bass Anglers fishing a 2 day tournament. It would be nice if we worked a tournament like that into our schedule some year.
I know you and your boys had a great time. Something to remember for years to come. Looks like ya’ll have a great haul. Good time for sure.
